This will be my last report. Riding is pretty much
done. You could trailer to the end of Upper Michigan, but you'd still have
a decent ride to any good snow and its all going fast. I'd recommend
calling it a season and waiting for next year.
Land owner dinner will be in April - stay tuned for more info!

Riding is still possible. Its recommended to stay out
of the valley and only ride on upper elevation trails such as those from upper
michigan. The groomer has also been out this week. With conditions
changing, ride with caution.

Just got a report from Dot. Trails have been groomed (I
don't have the details on exactly which exactly). Riding was good but
trails in the lower elevations got heavy and wet in the afternoon. I
expect this will probably be the case moving forward.

Snow was very mushy in the low areas Sunday and better up
higher. The groomer will be out and if temps cooperate, conditions should
be decent. Higher elevations will be much better then the lower
elevations. Expect possible hazards as a few water bars have opened and in
lower areas there is some water still.

Snow was followed by rain yesterday, but there was a lot of
snow. Latest report I got is that the groomer has been out but without the
drag because its too deep and heavy. So get out and ride - the groomer
will get out once possible. The more riding thats done and packing of the
snow by sleds, the sooner that can happen.

Snow is here! 13 inches so far with more on the way.
Two feet are possible! Groomer will be out and getting things in shape as
much as possible, so riding should be much better then its been in the next few
days. If you are out before the groomer, you can help get them in shape
too - Just make a new track rather then follow in an existing track. It
helps to pack all the snow down in the full width of the trail.

What's that white stuff falling from the sky? Oh yeah!
Snow! Finally the mountains are getting some. Last report from Dot
(I live in MA) was 5" and still snowing hard at 6pm!
After not being able to ride since the first week of the season due to a broken
collar bone, I finally got back on the trails this weekend. So, my first
hand report is that trails are in decent shape. Not great, but definitely
rideable if you stick to the good areas - mostly the state forest. Rode 50
miles Saturday and didn't hit anything awful. Covered trails on our side
of Mt. Carmel and went into Chittenden too.
Our poker ride is this Saturday! Please come join us for some fun and help
support the club.

Nothing new to report. There's been a little snow here
and there, but nothing substantial enough to make a big improvement. I
will be out on the trails this weekend and will give a more accurate update.
Don't forget - Poker Ride is next Saturday the 20th!

With the rain from the beginning of the week and the lack of
much new snow, many trails in the area are closed. Our trails are not
officially closed and riding in the upper elevation is still ok. There's a
few decent trails and some that are not so good. I did hear that the
trails on the Chittenden side were closed and people riding were getting
tickets. So ride at your own risk right now until we get more snow.
If a trail does not have adequate snow cover, you should turn around and go back
home. It is not worth risking permanent trail closure to get in a quick
ride.

I am still waiting for an update following Monday's rain, but
the initial report was that the rain didn't do too much damage in the higher
terrain. I will update as soon as I know more.
Updated 1/18/2010 8:13pm
There really isn't anything new to report. Conditions
are about the same and the groomer is continuing to groom as much as possible.
We really need a good dumping of snow to get things perfect.
We have already had a few incidents of people riding off the marked trail or
going under ropes. Please stay on the trail as riding off the trial risks
closure of that trail. Areas that are roped off are particularly sensitive
areas! An official trail to the Swiss farm is now available again - be
sure to stay on the trail when accessing it.

The report I got today was that trails are in good shape.
Some water bars still need to be filled in better and more snow will be needed
before that can happen. Overall good conditions though.
Updated 1/5/2010 10:19pm
Trails are really shaping up. The groomer has been out
and trails should be in great shape this week and weekend.

12" of new snow overnight. It will take some time for
the groomer to get out and for trails to get packed down. As always, ride
with caution and expect early season conditions such as open water bars and
other hazards.

Early season conditions remain. We are still working on
getting the trails into shape. Overall cover is decent, but most water
bars are still exposed, so riding is still rough. If you ride, ride with
caution. We'd recommend waiting until we get some more snow
